The Gary P. Durrenberger Memorial Scholarship was established by Gary's parents, Charles and Laura, to honor
Gary's life and to help those youths in Southern Arizona with their educational goals.
The fund is administered by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona in Tucson, Arizona (Non-Profit Tax ID# 06-1743243). Awards will be based on a combined scholarship and need basis.
Scholarship applicants should be respected by their peers, teachers, coaches, and employers,
have a financial need, and aspire to make the world a better place.
This scholarship is to encourage students determined to succeed, but who may not be eligible for other awards
to attend college. Applicants may be graduating from high school, hold a GED certificate or may
already attend college. Financial need is considered, and the scholarship is renewable. The first scholarships
were awarded in the spring of 2007.

Applicant Requirements
Pima County resident
Attending or plan to attend an accredited college or university
Minimum GPA of 2.75 or minimum average GED score of 500
Scholarship Details
Scholarship(s) will be awarded each year.
Each scholarship will be up to $2000.
Scholarships are renewable for three years.
Recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.00.
Recipients must maintain full-time student status (12 hours per semester).
Scholarship is to be applied to tuition and books only.
