About the Scholarship

The Gary P. Durrenberger Memorial Scholarship was established by Gary's parents, Charles and Laura, to honor Gary's life and to help those youths in Southern Arizona with their educational goals. The fund is administered by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona in Tucson, Arizona (Non-Profit Tax ID# 06-1743243). Awards will be based on a combined scholarship and need basis.

Scholarship applicants should be respected by their peers, teachers, coaches, and employers, have a financial need, and aspire to make the world a better place.

This scholarship is to encourage students determined to succeed, but who may not be eligible for other awards to attend college. Applicants may be graduating from high school, hold a GED certificate or may already attend college. Financial need is considered, and the scholarship is renewable.
