We are pleased to announce that our first two scholarship recipients, Hope Tapia and Gladys Finyom, completed their undergraduate studies in May 2011.
Tapia, from St. Augustine Catholic High School in Tucson, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Edward's University on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Minoring in Forensic Science, Hope plans to pursue a path to either Medical School or Graduate School next year.
Finyom, from Tucson Magnet High School, graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration. Finyom, who plans to start graduate school in a couple of years, has landed a position as a technical consultant.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful supporters of our scholarship fund who help make dreams such as this possible for Hope, Gladys and the rest of our scholarship recipients. Our dear son's memory lives on through these incredible young people. The 2011 scholarship winner will be announced soon.
